Iz živalskega vrta v Kijevu so že poročali o poškodbah infrastrukture zaradi ruskih izstrelkov, ki so padli blizu ograd za živali. Vse od začetka vojne so odvisni od pomoči iz tujine, da lahko vzdržujejo vsaj približno ustrezno raven oskrbe.

Danes je pomoč prišla tudi iz Nemčije in Avstrije: iz živalskih vrtov v Berlinu in Innsbrucku so v Kijev poslali pakete pomoči, v katerih je za 18 ton posebne prilagojene suhe hrane za živali.
